Dr. Aiman Al Rahmani

Acting Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Aiman Rahmani graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Damascus, Syria in 1987 with MD Degree, he obtained post-doctoral education in the neurophysiology department from the Medical Colleges of Pennsylvania (MCP), USA, in 1990.  After completing his residency training in pediatrics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993, New Jersey, and fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, in 1996 from Temple University at St. Christopher’s Children Hospital, Dr Rahmani pursued his education in business administration with MBA degree from Robert Kennedy College, University of Wales, Zurich, Switzerland by 2012, and Postgraduate Pediatric Nutrition certification from Boston University School of Medicine, by 2017. He acquired his American double board certifications in Pediatrics by 1993 and sub-specialization in Neonatology by 1999.

Currently, Dr Rahmani is appointed as the acting Chief Medical Officer for Tawam Hospital since April 2018. After joining Tawam hospital as consultant neonatologist in Aug 2004 from the UMDNJ-Kennedy Health System University, NJ, he held several leadership positions in the capacity of physician lead, and chief of division of neonatology between 2006 and 2010, then became the chairman of the department of pediatrics until March 2018, followed by a former appointment as the medical director of the SEHA Pediatric Service Line Council between 2012 and 2018. With his exemplary leadership role and vision, his focuses on management development, building strengths of programs/projects, improving efficiency by establishing a physician support system through customized applications, enhancing revenues, and improving research activities in pediatrics to enhance scientific and academic approaches for the advancement of patient quality care delivery.  

In addition, Dr Rahmani has several faculty appointments where he obtained his medical education in the USA (1993-2001), before joining Tawam Hospital, to acquire his full Clinical Professorship in Pediatrics at the CMHS, UAE University by 2012. He is a certified clinical course instructor PALS and NRP and faculty course developer in clinical teaching as well as founder of the neonatology fellowship training program at Tawam Hospital in collaboration with the CMHS, UAE University. He is also an active member of many professional societies (both national and international), an editorial board member in pediatric journals, a manuscript reviewer, and recently the editor in chief for Bio Accent, BOAJ Pediatrics by 2017.  He has numerous publications, participation in scientific conferences, and three ongoing research, with clinical interest in pulmonary physiology of the newborn and neonatal nutrition.
